This is a great sauce to keep on hand in your fridge, it’s a play on thousand island style dressings which I find too runny so I added cream cheese which adds some tang and makes it more spreadable so it won’t make your burger bun soggy.
None of the ingredients are all that unusual and most of you will have them in your pantry/fridge with the exception of shallots, if you want to make the sauce but you don’t have shallots, a red onion will do in a pinch.
Special Not So Secret Burger Sauce
25g Shallots, diced
4g Fresh Garlic (1 large clove)
30g Ketchup
40g Pickle Relish
10g Capers
1 Tsp Black pepper, freshly ground
2g Kosher or Sea Salt
160g Mayonaise, good quality
60g Cream Cheese
2 Tsp Lime Juice
1-2 Tsp Tabasco Sauce
I like to make this sauce in a bullet style blender, it makes it really fast. Just place all ingredients into the blender and blend it until smooth. It will keep in the fridge for approx. one month depending on the expiration of the cream cheese.
